🌳1st Day of Global Action Days 2026🌳
🗣️Our school proudly takes part once again in the Global Action Days, standing up for the environment 🌍
In our first activity, “Palette of Plenty,” students explored a variety of fruits and vegetables by sorting them by color and category. Through play and creativity, they created fun faces using fresh vegetables and fruits and brought them to life through imaginative storytelling.
This hands-on experience helped children discover the beauty of seasonal, local foods while understanding how colorful, natural choices can nourish both our bodies and our planet.
Let’s celebrate sustainability, creativity, and healthy habits—one colourful plate at a time!

🌱🎶 ACTIVITY 2: Legume Legends 🎶🌱
Our little explorers discovered the “humble heroes” of healthy and sustainable nutrition!
Through creative activities, they explored legumes and small grains—such as lentils, chickpeas, oats, and barley—learning about their nutritional value and their positive impact on the planet.
With imagination and excitement, they gave their dishes unique, modern names, making plant-based choices fun and appealing!
And because learning always goes hand in hand with creativity… the children made their own musical instruments and sang a beautiful spring song, filling the space with rhythm and joy!
Through this activity, we nurture healthy habits, sustainability awareness, and creative expression!

As part of the Global Action Days 🌍, our little explorers took part in Activity 3: “Recipes with Roots” 🍅
Our children chose a beloved family recipe—passed down through generations or reflecting their cultural heritage—and prepared it using at least two fresh vegetables. They explored, created, and proudly shared their delicious results!
These meals are not only rich in essential nutrients but also have a low impact on our planet, promoting sustainability by reducing waste and encouraging creative ways to reinvent familiar dishes.
Cooking together gave us the opportunity to share memories, learn new skills, and enjoy the simple joy of gathering around good food and meaningful conversations.
A big thank you to all the parents for their wonderful cooperation, and to our children who proved to be the best little chefs!

Activity 4: Mapping My Meal 🌍🥪
Today we explored how every meal connects us to people, places, and the planet. The children were curious to discover the journey of something simple like toast—learning how bread is processed and toasted to last longer, and then tracing its path on the map. We were amazed by the long distance it travels before reaching our plate!
This led us to make a thoughtful change: we decided to swap it for our own traditional village bread and authentic Greek feta.
The best part? The kids tried it—and absolutely loved it!
A small change, a big lesson about sustainability, local food, and making conscious choices.
